Aside from the main event a few other notable tournaments on the series schedule include a $25,500 No-Limit Hold’em Six Max tournament and a $5,000 Eight Game Mix tournament.

The biggest winner from the early action at the Gardens Casino has been Cord Garcia. He took down one of the first tournaments on the schedule, the $175 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack tournament to earn $48,000.

The big draw at any WPT series if of course the main event. Last season at the first WPT Gardens Poker Championship Simon Lam was the last man standing from a 584-player field in the $5,000 tourney to earn the majority of the $2.9 million prize pool. For the win Lam cashed $565,065 after outdueling Jake Schindler heads-up. There’s a good chance the prize pool and the first place prize will be larger this season.

This year the buy-in for the main has doubled to $10,000 after sitting at $5,000 last season. Whoever ends up making the final table at the Gardens Casino will alsi have to make arrangements to head to Las Vegas in March. The first main event of 2019 will also be the first WPT event of the new season to have the final table played later at the HyperX Esports Arena at the Luxor in Las Vegas. They final table is scheduled to be played on March 12.
