Sean Winter wins Poker Masters Purple Jacket

A strong finish allowed poker pro Sean Winter to win the Purple Jacket at the 2022 Poker Masters

It didn’t look like Winter was going to be a factor in the Poker Masters after he went without a cash through the first six events of the 10-event series. That all changed in Event 7, the first $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, where he finished second to cash $345,000.

He bested that in Event 9, another $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament, where he outlasted the rest of the 54-player field to take first place and cash $432,000.

When the final event of the series, Event 10 the $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament began Winter led the series in winnings and points, but there were still a few players within striking distance at the final table. Both Seth Davies and Erik Seidel had a chance to pass Winter if they could win the tournament. Neither could do it, as Davies ended up finishing fifth, and Seidel had to settle for fourth place.

On the Poker Masters final standings Winter ended up with $777,000 in winnings, and 466 points. They put just ahead of Jason Koon who finished second with $747,000 in winnings and 449 points.

This was Winter’s second major PokerGO Tour series win. He also won player of the series honors at the U.S. Poker Open earlier this year. For his career Winters now has cashed more than $22.9 million
