Jeremy Ausmus kicks of Poker Masters with win

The Poker Masters began at the ARIA Resort and Casino in Las Vegas earlier this week and the first event was won by poker pro Jeremy Ausmus.

Ausmus was the last man standing in the opening event of the Poker Masters, the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em tournament. The kickoff event had 85 entrants and a $850,000 prize pool. Ausmus cashed $204,000 after defeating Nick Schulman heads-up at the final table.

Coincidentally Ausmus and Schulman also clashed heads-up as the final two players in a World Series of Poker Online event days earlier. In the WSOP event Ausmus also came out on top to win his fifth WSOP bracelet and $51,807.

The Poker Masters is comprised of 10 events and will run at the ARIA and live on PokerGO from September 22 to October 3. Throughout the Masters players will collect points dependant on how well they finish in the tournaments. At the end of the series the players will the most points will receive the Poker Masters Purple Jacket and $50,000.

The last winner of the Purple Jack was Michael Addamo at the 2021 Poker Masters. Addamo won two events in 2021, including main event. Altogether he cashed $1.8 million.

September 30 – Event 9 – $25,000 No-Limit Hold’em

October 1 – Event 10 – $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em
