Golden Spade Poker Open continues at Ignition Poker

One of the largest poker tournament series of the year is currently running at Ignition Poker.

The Golden Spade Poker Open began at Ignition on October 19 with 140 tournaments on the schedule and more than $5 million in guaranteed prize pool. The series may have been running for a few weeks but there’s still plenty of action to come as the series runs until November 18.

Included in the still to come tournaments are the Golden Spade Poker Open Main Event and the Mini Main Event on November 17.

Before talking about the big money tournaments lets briefly look at how the Golden Spade is also adding money to some of the regular tournaments at Ignition. Throughout the Golden Spade run every Sunday the regularly scheduled $150,000 guaranteed tourneys will see their prize pools bumped up to $177,000.

Shifting back to the Golden Spade, the Mini-Main event has a $109 buy-in with a $120,000 guaranteed prize pool. That’s a little cheaper than the Main Event which will cost you $450 to buy-in and comes with a $500,000 guarantee.

If you don’t have $450 in your bankroll there are more cost-effective was to get into the Main event through satellite qualifiers. The folks at Ignition have setup a few different ways to qualify for the main event for players of all bankrolls and budgets.

The cheapest avenue to the main event is through the Grinder’s path. Satellites to move on to the $25 qualifiers start out at $4 and are being run four times daily.

Next is the Sit & Go path. There are six-player sit & go tournaments being offered throughout the day with a $75 buy-in. You can also earn you way into one of the sit & go qualifiers through a $7 satellite.

The third way in is through the High Roller’s path. These qualifier tournaments’ have a $50 buy-in but you can also get into the qualifier through a $7 satellite.

The last way in is through the direct satellites which have a $75 buy-in with at least one guaranteed seat in the main event. On November 17 there will also be a huge turbo satellite with a $75 buy-in with 10 seats in the main event up for grabs.
