Full 2021 WSOP schedule announced

After being shuffled online in 2020 due to the pandemic the World Series of Poker returns in-person in 2021 with 88 WSOP bracelet events on the schedule.

That full schedule was released earlier this week with old favorites and a few new events. The 2021 WSOP will take place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas from September 30 to November 23.

Also new this year is an entirely new tournament format with the first ever Flip and Go tournament in live WSOP history. If you play online, you’re likely familiar with a Flip and Go, but for those foreign to the concept here’s how it will work. On the first hand of the tournament everyone at the table is all-in.

All players are dealt three cards and after the flop is dealt they choose which two to play. Once everyone’s choice is made cards are flipped up, the rest of the board is rolled out and the winner’s move on while the losers are out. Everyone that survives is in the money. The rest of the tournament plays out as a normal No-Limit Hold’em tournament. The Flip and Go tournament has a $1,000 buy-in and is scheduled for October 10.

One other notable new entry on the WSOP schedule this year is the Poker Hall of Fame Bounty tournament. All living Poker Hall of Fame members are invited to play in this tournament for free. Anyone else who enters pays a $1,979 buy-in, chosen to commemorate the founding year of the Hall of Fame.

All Hall of Famers in the tournament have a bounty on their head, the size of which is determined by the year they were inducted. The latest inductee for 2021 will also be announced during the event.

The 2021 WSOP schedule also include many classic events that players have grown to expect including the Millionaire Maker, Colossus, The Closer, and the Poker Players Championship.

This year’s $10,000 Main event has four starting flights with Day 1A scheduled for November 4. The nine-player Main Event final table will be played on November 16.
