Fabio Peluso wins first bracelet of 2022 WSOPE

The first bracelet of the 2022 World Series of Poker Europe has been won by Italy’s Fabio Peluso.

Peluso outlasted a 2,454-player field to earn his first career WSOP bracelet in the €350 Opener. For the win Peluso cashed $95,670. That was the second-high cash of his career following the $228,207 he pocketed for finishing second in in an event at EPT Monte Carlo earlier this year.

The Opener got the 2022 WSOPE started with four Day 1 flights, followed by two more days of poker before Peluso was crowned the winner. It came down to Peluso and Carlo Savinelli heads-up for the tournament title, but when heads-up play began Savinelli had a near 2-to-1 chip lead. Peluso took down some big pots to take over the chip lead and on the final hand his pocket fives held up against Savinelli’s A-7 suited spades when the board showed Jh-6d-4d-10c-2d.
