Delaware Becomes Second US State with Online Gambling Options

Just a few days ago we reported that the state of Delaware was getting ready to launch online gambling options. The state had approved such actions and on October 31st the testing phase began. A select group of gamblers were allowed to play the gaming and then a few days later, the site was live! Players in the state can now log on and enjoy their favorite casino games.

The state offers a nice variety of gambling games, considering they are the only one in the US that offers more than just poker. The site provides poker as well as slots, blackjack and roulette selections. The casinos in the state host the online options and this includes Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Delaware Park.

The software for the state is provided by 888 Holdings and the back-end solutions such as player verification are handled by Scientific Games. The state chose to work with these companies since they have proven to provide top quality solutions in other gambling markets.

Currently, the gambling offering includes two variants of poker: Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Hold’em. Players of these games can enjoy stakes of $2 to $4 and these options include ring games and sit and gos are available up to $100.

New Jersey is set to begin their online gambling options later on this month and the states will then offer three separate areas for gambling online for cash. The states have already begun discussing creating compacts to begin offering interstate player pools so it will be interesting to see if Delaware and Nevada join up now or if they wait till New Jersey is live to pool their collective resources together. New Jersey is currently slated to soft launch towards the end of this month, so only a few more days and we should see more changes in the industry.
