Bicycle Casino California reopens

Casino gambling is slowly returning to the state of California, as the Bicycle Hotel & Casino in Bell Gardens reopened earlier this week after a near six-month closure.

The Bicycle was first shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic in March. They briefly reopened in late June, but that was short-lived, and they were forced to close again a few weeks later following an order from California Gov. Gavin Newsom that imposed restrictions on all indoor businesses, including cardrooms.

Why did the Bicycle Casino California re-open now?

To get the doors back open a second time, and hopefully keep them open for good, there has been several changes at the Bicycle. Operators have opened a new outdoor gaming area that will feature 52 tables, which will include 17 poker tables for cash games.

Food and drink venues at the Bicycle will be reopening, but all food and drink must be consumed in designated areas outdoors to abide current California health guidelines.

Before reopening Bicycle staff also shared a list of guidelines that must be followed when on the property. These guidelines included a strict mask policy which stated that anyone on the property must wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth at all times. Hand sanitizer must be used before you sit down at any table and participate in any game.

All guests and staff must wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds at least once per hour. Anyone entering the property, including guests, and employees must pass a temperature check and answer questions regarding COVID-19 symptoms.

The Bicycle Casino California is also instituting a new policy that all players must have a Player’s Reward Card to play any casino games. This new policy is being initiated to make it easier for the casino to contact players for contact tracing in case of an infection of outbreak at the casino.
