It seems new poker rooms pop online on a regular basis but not all have what it takes to stay in business. It is extremely hard for an online poker room to launch, gain solid traffic and continue to entice players to log on and compete. Lucky Ace Poker will be shutting down on the 28th of December with players moving to 888 Poker, as both ran on the same network.
SBC News reported the closure of Lucky Ace Poker in the coming days with information included on the online poker room’s website in the FAQs. The poker brand has been in service for eight years and was primarily used by 888 to target online poker players in Germany. Back in November, 888 decided to stop taking new signups for customers at Lucky Ace, which was a sign that the site would be shutting down. According to SBC, the players of the site have been able to find out information from the site as well as affiliates and media partners communicating the closure of the brand.
Additional information by SBC included the fact that 888 revealed that the decision to close the poker room was done in order to concentrate the growth and corporate resources towards the 888 poker room, which is managed in-house. The FAQ page of Lucky Ace Poker now forwards players to the home page of 888 and is being used to show players where they can go as the online poker room is set to close.
Information has also been released that in the past few weeks, the online poker room’s software was only made available to those who were existing customers. New players could not download the software if they did not have it already.

With sites like Lock Poker, players began to see issues with withdrawals and received no information on any aspect. Players still have not been able to withdraw cash from Lock. At Lucky Ace, players are able to make withdrawals and then redirect their game play to 888 poker to enjoy cash gaming. It is nice to see an operator taking initiative to do a good job when having to close down an online poker site.
