The New Jersey Championship of Online Poker Begins Next Month

New Jersey Championship Of Online PokerIn recent news, Partypoker has announced that they will be hosting the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker (NJCOP) at NJ.partypoker.com and BorgataPoker.com from April 19-27.

The NJCOP tournament series will consist of 15 events in total with buy-ins ranging from $50 to $500 as well as a freeroll and satellites to gain cheaper entry into a few of the events.

The main tournament that most New Jersey players would be interested in playing is the NJCOP Main Event, a $200 buy-in deep stack freezeout tournament, so plenty of poker will be played. It commences on Sunday April 27 and features a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool with $50,000 of this going to the winner.

With $600,000 in guaranteed prize money up for grabs across all the events there is plenty to get excited about for online poker players who reside in New Jersey or those traveling to the Garden State to play.

This is what Team partypoker ambassador Mike Sexton had to say about the upcoming event in New Jersey.

“The online poker action in New Jersey has been red hot since day one and the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker will be the ultimate test for pros and amateurs alike. What’s more if you are coming from out of town to play the partypoker WPT World Championship at the Borgata it is timed so you can make the most of the live and online games!”

The World Poker Tour World Championship that will be held at the Borgata from April 21-26 will conclude just before the start of the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker. It will be interesting to see how this will affect attendance numbers for the NJCOP Main Event.

Team partypoker member Jamie Kerstetter had this to say about the upcoming NJCOP.

“It’s so exciting to have the partypoker WPT World Championship coming to Atlantic City and to have the New Jersey Championship of Online Poker coinciding with it. New Jersey really is the place to play big online and offline events in April and is a trailblazer for poker in the United States. What’s even better is that it kicks off with a freeroll.”

Things will get underway on April 19 when the $50,000 Freeroll will be hosted and each player who makes the final table in this event will receive entry into every NJCOP event over the next 8 days.

In addition to the Main Event, another event to look forward to in the NJCOP schedule is the High Roller, a $500 buy-in event taking place on April 27. This particular event features a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool and $10,000 of this will be going directly to the winner.
