Party Poker recently announced a new event titled MILLIONS that will now have an increased guaranteed prize pool at a whopping £6 million!
The new MILLIONS event has seen the increase in prize money as a way for Party Poker to be able to raise the bar in regards to guaranteed poker tournament events. Players dream of becoming a millionaire and with this event, the possibility is there. Whenever such a huge guarantee is offered, players register in record numbers in the hopes of being the last one standing, earning the huge first place prize.
Party Poker has suffered as of late due to competition from other poker provider’s including PokerStars. The company has worked hard to try and create an enticing poker event that players will want to take part in and have made several changes to their site, including hiring several poker pros to bring in players to enjoy gaming. The prize pool for the upcoming MILLIONS event is actually being called the largest guaranteed prize pool in the history of poker in Europe!
The online poker site began a campaign to promote the upcoming MILLIONS event about a month ago. Players were already looking forward to competing due to the £5 million guaranteed prize pool. Now, the prize pool is 1 million larger and players cannot wait to get started. Players who are able to make it to day 4 of the event will be able to earn at least £5,000 in prize money. With the additional million, over 100 more players will be able to earn a payday which makes the event that much more enticing to poker players.
The online poker brand will be offering several Day 1s with players able to compete online at Party Poker as well as live at Dusk Till Dawn and other card rooms in the UK. Players can buy-in for £550 and be given 100,000 in starting chips playing at a starting blind structure of 250/500. The blinds will increase every 16 minutes during online game play and every 30 to 40 minutes when playing live. Players who are able to make it past all 14 levels will then move on to Day 2.
Day 2s will then take place online as well as live at Dusk Till Dawn. The event is not set to take place until April but Party is already heavily promoting the MILLIONS in the hopes to see many players taking part. Players can also buy-in directly during Day 2 but the cost is much higher at £5,300. However, 1 million poker chips will be provided.
Players are sure to be signing up in record numbers to take part in the MILLIONS event. Over the next few months, it would not be surprising to see both Party Poker as well as Dusk Till Dawn offering up satellites or qualifiers for players to be able to earn their seats to the big event.
