The Golden Nugget Casino has received approval by New Jersey gaming regulators on Friday to begin offering online gambling services to all players in the US state of New Jersey.
The brick-and-mortar casino, which is now operating under GoldenNuggetCasino.com failed to make the soft launch, where its competitors began operating in New Jersey to iron out any teething problems, but the casino has managed to sort out its lingering issues that prevented it from launching the same day as its competitors, and has now received full approval to launch its services.
New Jersey gaming regulators had not given the go ahead for the Golden Nugget Casino when six other operators were given the green light to fully launch their online gambling services in November of this year. The Golden Nugget said it was not ready to open its doors to customers at the time, with a priority to work out any glitches with its betting platform to ensure that it would provide a top notch experience for their players.
Golden Nugget Casino General Manager Tom Pohlman said, “We weren’t satisfied with what we were ready to offer our customers.” Now, after approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE) he said “Now, we are very satisfied. Everything is exactly where we want it to be. We offer more titles of slots, video poker and table games titles than anyone, and we make it easier than anywhere else to fund an account and get started.”
The Golden Nugget Atlantic City casino website is fully functional and can be accessed through the URLs www.goldennuggetcasino.com and nj-casino.goldennuggetcasino.com. The newly launched casino features the highest number of casino games of any New Jersey licensed gaming website, with 77 online slots, roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and video poker. Golden Nugget has said that in addition to offering slot machines currently found on the casino floor, additional games will be released over time.
Depositing funds to play at Golden Nugget is a straightforward process. In addition making deposits with Visa, MasterCard, Bank Transfers, Personal Checks and Cash at the Cage, Golden Nugget is the first online casino in New Jersey to offer prepaid cards.
Players with prepaid cards are able to transfer funds to and from their Golden Nugget casino account instantaneously. It’s also possible to use the prepaid card to make non-gaming purchases, and the purchases don’t need to be made within the Golden Nugget casino property. Funding the prepaid card can be done via a smartphone, tablet device or in cash at the cage of the casino.
Golden Nugget also has plans to enter the online poker market in New Jersey to compliment it’s live poker offerings, and will launch GoldenNuggetPoker.com at the start of 2014, to run alongside its casino and mobile poker product which will offer its poker games for Android and iOS devices. The online poker website will feature free to play and real money poker games for players within the state of New Jersey. If you are not located in New Jersey, it will not be possible to play poker on the site.
This news means there is now seven operators in the New Jersey online gambling market. The Borgata, Trump Plaza, Trump Taj Mahal, Tropicana, Bally’s, and Caesars are also operating for New Jersey residents. The Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City has also been given approval to start offering online gambling within the state of New Jersey, but PokerStars, which was to be its online partner, was blocked from gaining a New Jersey gaming license for at least two years, unless it’s immediate circumstances were to change.
Next month, the state of New Jersey will provide online gambling revenue figures, and the other US states yet to be regulated at the state level will no doubt take notice of this.
