Global Casino Championship Reaches Final Table

They’re down to six at the 2017 Global Casino Championship with six players left in the running for the tournament title.

The $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em tournament was open to anyone who won a ring on the WSOP Circuit last season and the top 100 from the Player of the Year Standings. Anyone willing to pony up the $10,000 entry fee was also allowed in, and in total 115 players took their shot this week at Harrah’s Cherokee in North Carolina.

The 115-player field delivered a prize pool of $1,463,000 with $296,941 going to the eventual winner. The chip leader heading into the final table is Alexander Lakhov. He has just over 1.4 million in chips which gives him a strong lead, as in second Sean Yu boasts 935,000 in chips.

Lakhov has won on the WSOP Circuit before, with one championship ring on his poker resume. That win came in the Czech Republic during the International Series earlier this season. In total he’s recorded 13 WSOP cashes worth $120,190.

Yu has won two WSOP Circuit rings with the most recent coming earlier this season at the Planet Hollywood event. He has posted 11 WSOP cashes in his career worth $170,286.
