Daniel Negreanu earns First Ever Major Online Tournament Win

Daniel Negreanu is a top poker pro known for his game play at the felt. With many World Series of Poker bracelets to his name and live event wins, you might be surprised to learn that the pro has never earned a major online win, until now. Negreanu has now earned his first major online win with a first place finish at the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker during Event #33.

The pro competed in the event and earned $216,000 for the first place finish. Event #33 was the $5,200 Pot Limit Omaha event and with the win, Negreanu earned the cash as well as a SCOOP watch. Other top pros competed in the event as well including: Ruben Visser, Sorel Mizzi, Ami Barer, George Danzer, Ben Tollerene, Jude Ainsworth and many more.

The event was in 6 max PLO format and the field of 180 would prove to be no match for Negreanu. The guarantee for this event was $400,000 and ended up offering $900,000. Negreanu was due a top online win and has done quite well for the year, earning a few wins and top finishes in major events.

The pro has earned a WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event win as well as top EPT finishes. The WSOP will soon kick off and it will be interesting to see if the pro continues to dominate the field and earn another WSOP bracelet to his collection after the high of this most recent win. The events start soon so players will be hitting the felt before we know it and the WSOP will be back in action once again!
