2017 World Series of Poker Releases Details of Upcoming Events

Poker players in the United States will be excited to hear that although the full schedule of the 2017 World Series of Poker has yet to be completed, the WSOP has released some information on the big weekend events in Las Vegas. The WSOP is always full of quality tournament action but several tournaments are just more prominent than others. With this new announcement, poker players can see a few big events and make plans to attend.

Last December, the WSOP announced the official dates for the 2017 WSOP, which are May the 30th to July 17th. There will be more than 70 bracelet events which means players will have plenty of opportunity to take part in quality gaming. The first big weekend of the series will include the Colossus III event. This tournament will have a buy-in of $565 and feature re-entry with a no limit hold’em format. There will be a first place prize guaranteed at $1 million.

The tournament will have two starting flights per day taking place at 10am and 4pm from the 2nd to the 4th of June. The format will allow for one re-entry per flight. This could really push up the prize pool depending on how many re-entries are completed.

The very next weekend will see the Millionaire Maker event take place from the 10th to the 11th of June. This event has 10am starting flights on these days and will offer a single re-entry. The buy-in if $1,500 with $1 million also guaranteed for the first place finisher.

Moving on to the next weekend, the WSOP has the $1,000 seniors championship scheduled for the 16th of June. This event is open to individuals 50 years of age or older and will begin at 10am with a single starting flight. On the 18th, seniors will have another event to take part in, the super seniors event. This tournament is open to those who are 65 years or older.

The next weekend is an off one as the Electric Daisy Carnival will be taking place near Las Vegas. There will be tournaments taking place as part of the WSOP but no major events. Skip ahead to the final weekend in June and players can take part in the Monster Stack event. This tournament has a buy-in of $1,500 and will be a single entry, freezeout style event. Players will be given 15,000 in starting chips with the start time at 10am on the 24th. A second flight starts the same time the very next day.

In July, players will be able to kick off the month with the Crazy Eights event which has a buy-in of $888. The tournament will have two starting flights on the 1st and 2nd of July at 10am and 4pm. The event is unlimited re-entry and is an eight-handed tournament.

The Main Event, perhaps the most anticipated event of the series, will take place from the 8th to the 17th of July. The tournament has the standard $10,000 buy-in and will feature three starting flights from the 8th to the 10th.

Changes to the 2017 WSOP include players having the ability to enter tournaments with a credit card for their payment. This can be done for events that have a buy-in up to $10,000. It is also believed that the Little One For One Drop, a charity event for the One Drop foundation, will be back in action and be the final event of the schedule.

The WSOP is expected to release the full schedule of events sometime in February.
